1. Introduction
Timshal ("we", "our", "us") operates the financial planning and analysis platform at timshal.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service. We operate from Oregon, United States, and are responsible for the personal information described here.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information — name and email address, provided during sign-in.
- Financial data — data you import from connected third-party services. This data is stored securely and used solely to provide the service.
Website analytics
We use cookies and browser storage to understand how people use Timshal and improve the service. Usage information includes pages visited, clicks, scrolling and content displayed on pages. When you sign in, this information is linked to your account.
You can allow or decline optional analytics and change your choice at any time using Privacy choices. Declining does not prevent you from using Timshal.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the service
- To authenticate your identity
- To import and display financial data you have explicitly connected
- To improve the product using your usage data
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or financial data with third parties for their own purposes. We use third-party service providers to operate and improve the platform, including hosting, authentication, error monitoring, product analytics, and in-app chat support. If you use in-app chat, your messages and account information are shared with our chat support provider.
5. Google User Data
When you connect your Google account, we request access to your spreadsheet data via the Google Sheets API. We access, use, and store this data solely to import spreadsheet content you explicitly select into your financial models within the application. We do not access, store, or share any Google user data beyond what is necessary to provide this import functionality.
Specifically:
- Google Sheets data is not used for serving advertisements, including retargeting or personalized advertising.
- Google Sheets data is not sold, rented, or transferred to third parties, ad platforms, or data brokers.
- Employees and contractors do not read your Google Sheets data unless you have given explicit consent, or it is necessary for security or legal purposes, or it is aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.
Timshal's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Legal bases
Where GDPR applies, we rely on consent for optional analytics, performance of our agreement to provide requested account and financial-model services, and our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure and diagnosing operational errors. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests by contacting us.
6. Data Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Data at rest is stored in encrypted databases. Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel.
7. Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may disconnect integrations at any time, which stops further data syncing. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Disconnect third-party integrations and revoke access at any time
- Request an export of your data
- Change your analytics choice through Privacy choices
- Where applicable, request restriction of processing, object to processing, and complain to your local data protection authority
